Can magento do the following?
We are looking for a multi store/ multi domain solution that looks like this:
www.myshop.de - this will be the mother ship controlling stock and prices. It should also have access to ALL sales activities on the other domains.
We currently have 6 other country domains for example .ie, .co.uk, .fr, .es etc.
Each county has their own sales team who need to be able to access site specific customer queries, order etc.
Each of these sub stores should NOT have access to any other store information except their own country.
One other possible issue is that our co.uk website had to display prices in GBP, not euro.
You can definitely setup multiple stores on separate domains, but it sounds like you will need some integration to help with data sharing between all the stores, correct?
We actually provide a solution to help you integrate multiple stores on different domains, although we’d have to learn more details about exactly what you’re trying to achieve. If you have separate Magento websites (totally separate implementations), you can use multiple channels in our portal, with each one using the Magento adapter. What our system does is read data from one source (a channel) into our database, and replicate it to other destinations (other channels). This means we can read data from one Magento store into our database, and push that info back out automatically to any other channel, including other Magento channels. This gives customers a single master inventory/category control.
What we hope to implement is a master website that can control stock and prices and sub shops in different countries where 3rd parties can access orders and customer enquirers. Sorry if my question is too vague, what other information do you need?
please check out Advanced Permissions extension. It will let you give regional managers access to their site only but not to the others. Magento actually has in-built user roles functions. But the thing is that a user can easily edit permissions himself which is not very convenient and as a result has not much sense.
