I am putting together a business case for a client to show that we could potentially use Magento to look after their:
The client sells souvenir clothing, promotional and corporate leisurewear which they can design and decorate in-house. They have over 2000 products and need to update their process and web presence to meet demand. They currently use 2 separate pieces of software to manage stock and accounts and they don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t have any e-commerce and they have high-street stores but want to bring themselves up to date.
At this stage I would just love to find some case studies, success stories, examples of available modules from Magento to show they there is in fact a potential solution here or there isn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t if that is the case.
We would also like to see if this is how the industry is progressing in general
Magento itself is very powerful solution with lots of possibilities, however, there are a great deal of extensions that widen its possibilities even more. One of such solutions is Store Manager for Magento and its addons for various purposes.
You mentioned that there will be the need for you to regularly update your store and integrate it with some accounting system. It is possible with Store Manager and it addons.
To set up scheduled updates performed automatically every regular period of time use Store Manager and Automated Products Import addon.
For accounting you can integrate with PeachTree or QuickBooks.

Great timing! We actually provide a solution to help you integrate Magento with inventory and accounting/ERP systems that you may run. We help solve the problem of integrating these systems together so that you can just have one optimally running multi-channel environment.
For your Magento site, once downloaded, our Magento connector starts copying your customer, item, sales and supplier data to the nchannel platform. Simply add additional connectors for the other channel systems you use to begin exchanging data between Magento and any other channel.
This information may be of interest to you. We have noticed more and more companies are now asking these questions, point-to-point cannot keep up with the growth levels that companies are now demanding.
