Hi Juddder,

We’ve temporarily unpublished our first version as we’re actively working on a new release including suggestions, feedback and fixes we’ve received from the first developers that tried it.  I apologize for the inconvenience but we hope to have a new, better version published back soon!

Best

Hi Jose,

For some reason, the magento application broke. I had to rework on it. It is not because of the extension since, I had disabled it. I had Solr running but, could not complete the procedure with the extension. Look forward for your latest release of this extension. Good luck!
P.S : Highly appreicate, if detail steps on usage is available.

So has anyone gotten this to work properly?

Been playing with Sphinx and not liking the results…

SOLR uses Levenshtein Distance (Fuzzy Logic) which provides 98% accuracy, Sphinx and Lucene do not so accuracy is 60-80%. We can provide you with a SOLR install if you need that level of accuracy in the search results.

You need to look for schema.xml, however we are under nda from the consultants so that is about as much as we can do.

Hi serpyre,

We’ve discussed sphinx before smile

I appreciate you extending a hand, but I know your services are not free which is why I’m posting here.

The module was sucesfully installed (drop in)

But I cannot find any references to a CONF directory in the package to be dropped into the SOLR installation…

Any clues?

Thanks,

SR

Specifically in all installation guides I have found, they refer to the magento SOLR conf directory:

lib/Apache/Solr/conf/

Thanks,

SR

You need to copy this file from the RAR:

/app/code/local/Magentix/Solr/etc/schema.xml
to the
/conf
of your Solr Installation, replacing the current schema.xml.
After that you need to restart the server running Solr (Jetty/Tomcat).

You can also download the latest version of “schema.xml” from:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/magentix/Solr/master/app/code/local/Magentix/Solr/etc/schema.xml

After trying Magentix’ Solr extension, I decided to build my own implementation based on the Solarium PHP library.
My implementation is good quality code with comments etc. I added example Solr configs.
The extension supports autocomplete and auto correct of search terms.

You can see it in action here: fastshop.jeroenvermeulen.eu

It is a free official Magento Connect extension.
And it is open source, in GitHub.

If you have any problems, please report then via the GitHub issue tracker.
