Can Magento talk to WebMethods and then ultimately to SAP?

See the question above. We have an existing enterprise service bus, WebMethods, which has mappings to SAP.  We are currently using another Ecommerce package which talks through WebMethods to SAP. We would like to replace that old Ecommerce package and use Magento to tie in to WebMethods, as our current eCommerce platform does.

Is that possible and has anyone used WebMethods with Magento?

Thanks for the assistance,

Dave

Yes, using Magento Soap API you can access the relevant datasets such as orders, products, etc. You can either write a PHP push connector to WebMethods or a WebMethods pull solution with the API. You will want to make sure that you only process deltas so need a reliable tracking process, you do not want to re-process more than necessary due to performance issues.

The main task will be a cross business/technical issue to convert the Magento datasets to your ESB schema for forwarding to SAP (we presume ECC). We would assume that you have other applications as ESB solutions are not normally used unless you have a minimum of three applications requiring integration, where hub based architectures are preferable.
