Anybody knows how custom options price calculation works for fixed and percent price. I want to change percent calculation functionality from base price to total price. currently its calculating price from base price. how to change this from base price to total price?

base price :$10
custom option1 price :$ 10
custom option2 : 10%

magento calculation :
Total price = baseprice + custom option1 price + (custom option2 price % from base price )
Total price =$10+$10+1=21

we need
After select first custom option(custom option1)
Total price = baseprice + custom option1 price
Total price = $10+$10 = $20
Then after select second custom option(custom option2)
Total Price should be
Total price = $20 + (custom option2 price % from Total price )
i.e. Total Price = $20 + (10% of $20)
Total Price = $20 + $2
Total Price = $22

Please advice

The company we work with has a solution but it is part of a larger system (Managed eCommerce Platform). You need to track the price changes to the lowest price and update all the other automatically, as an absolute price. Try searching for absolute pricing, it is complex to get it to all work correctly and it is 50% a business problem and 50% a technical problem so code alone will not work.

Hi. if You will not use percentage calculations the best option is to use Advanced Custom Options - which allows You to add any custom options and use dependent fields + You can enable absolute pricing. Feel free to look and review its features

Best Regards
Paul

Hello

Our IMAGES AS CUSTOM OPTIONS Magento extension allows to put all configurable options on one page that works with AJAX with no reloads.

Per your request: Pricing calculation system of this module can work in both ways, default magento and custom functionality brought by the extension where the new base price is generated after each selection made. These 2 ways of work can be adjusted with different sort order selection.

It also brings to you other advanced functionality:
- Add any number of required options (specify title, price, select image per option)
- Set the sort order to adjust to order of options appearance on the page
- Add several images to make the main product picture change according to the selected option
- Price is updated once an option is selected
- and many more

Check the product page to find an example website.
Please contact me for more info if interested

Yes, the code updates are all very nice in theory but they cause problems with the indexer among other things, we have tried them. The world between theory and practice is always lost on most.
