Following an upgrade to 188.8.131.52 (and then to 184.108.40.206), I can no longer save any changes made to any category.
I traced the problem to /js/prototype/deprecation.js in line 66 which reads:
Regardless of why this hits an error (and why ‘console’ is not defined - I have no clue why), when I print out the contents of the ‘message’ variable, I get this:
Prototype Deprecation Warning: Element#getElementsBySelector has been deprecated, please use Element#select instead.
and, eventually, I trace this to /app/design/adminhtml/default/default/template/catalog/category/edit/form.phtml where in line 88 it reads:
var fields = $('category_edit_form').getElementsBySelector('input', 'select');
I have re-installed everything and even restored from backup (from 220.127.116.11).
Am I the only one seeing this?
Why is ‘console’ not defined? Why is the deprecation message not appearing?
Why is the deprecation message try to come up anyway?
and perhaps more to the point… How can I fix it?
Any input welcome!
Best regards to all
