Hi,

I am trying to work out how to edit the Left column on my Magento Store. I guess I should read up on Blocks / Regions / etc, but Ive not yet so I am hoping someone can help me.

So, my site is using “frontend/default/caramel/template/page/2columns-left.phtml” - So I open up this file and I have:
<div class="col-left sidebar"><?php echo $this->getChildHtml('left') ?></div>

OK - So I go look in page.xml and find this:
<block type="core/text_list" name="left" as="left" translate="label">
<label>Left Column</label>
</block>

What I am trying to find, is the PHP/XHTML that is creating the layout of this left column in this page:
http://www.e-cocinasplus.com/en/kitchens/cookware/cookware-sets-1.html

I have turned on the hinting and I can see this:

COMPARE PRODUCTS:
Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_Compare_Sidebar
frontend/base/default/template/catalog/product/compare/sidebar.phtml

SHOP BY
frontend/default/caramel/template/catalog/layer/view.phtml
Mage_Catalog_Block_Layer_View

PAYPAL LOGO
frontend/base/default/template/paypal/partner/logo.phtml
Mage_Paypal_Block_Logo

But I cannot see anything that represents LEFT BLOCK .... ??

I want to add some custom graphics underneath paypal in the LEFT column??

Thank you!

Hello,

You may find left column under <reference name="left">---</reference> which is found in respective .xml flies.
For example “Compare Products” and “Shop By” found under “catalog.xml”. And “Paypal” found under “paypal.xml”
Hope it will helps you.
