hi,
i have magento 1.1.8 and i want to have magento-1.2.0.2.
how can i update it. do i have to delete 1.1.8 first and install 1.2.0.2? or can i unpack 1.2.02. in the folder of 1.1.8?

You can upgrade Magento by using Magento Connect Manager. Just type in the following and click “Install”:-

magento-core/Mage_All_Latest

Be sure to keep backups of your files and database before upgrading.
