I noticed that in 1.1.8 for shopping cart rules there is no option letting you select WEBSITE. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something else I need to turn on? I can create coupons but the coupons never work.

I am having the same trouble. (using whatever the very latest version of M is).

The tutorial on the $10 coupon.. the options it suggests dont exist any more.

Is there an up to date coupon tutorial out there?

hi! and thanks in advance!

http://www.magentocommerce.com/wiki/how-to/how-do-i-create-a-10-dollar-off-coupon
basically what that link is trying to do.

its trying to use this layout
http://www.magentocommerce.com/knowledge-base/entry/what-are-shopping-cart-price-rules-and-how-do-i-use-them/

and sadly, its making it difficult since its all easy to follow untill the COUPON CODE needs entering.
Now its all about the conditions in the attributes section.

Ive gone to Catalogue price rules - add rule -

and its the Conditions that make it tricky.
is there a simple way to make Everything discount by the price in the Actions section, only when they enter a coupon code at the buying page in the end.
?

Does that make sence?

If you leave the Conditions blank (on both pages), the coupon will apply to everything in the store.

is that what you mean?

Its a coupon to thank people for attending the shows we displayed our products in.
So it would be a coupon code that would be emailed out that they can enter and use on the site.

Hi,

It depends if you want the code to be applied to the whole basket of single products.  If its single products then use
Promotions/Catalog Price Rules

IF its for the whole Cart then use Promotions/Shopping Cart Price Rules

Ok I guess its for the whole basket giving the customer a 10% discount

So follow these:

Promotion/Shopping Cart Price Rules

Rule Name: 10percentoff
Description: 10off
Status: Active
Customer Groups: Select all if you want it to apply to all customer groups or if you just want a specific customer group select that one.
Coupon Code: Insert the code you want to use
Uses Per Coupon: When im using this i set this to 0 as its for the whole basket ( i guess it could also be 1 depends on your purpose)
Uses Per Customer: Again depends on your needs I have 0 but again it could be 1 so they can onlu use it once.

Leave the conditions tag as this is not needed.

ACTIONS TAB

Apply: Percent of product Price Discount
Discount amount: 10
Maximum Qty Discount is Applied to: i have this set to 1000 as I want this to apply to the whole basket and I dont think anyone will have more than 1000 products in my basket ( feel free to set this to what you want if you think you need more)
Discount Qty Step (Buy X): 0
Free shipping: No ( again its up to you )
Stop further rules processing: No ( the reason i have no is I also have if the customer spends more than 150.00 they get free shipping and I dont want this canceled out )

Then go to System/Cache Management and clear the cache.

Give that a try and let me know how you get on.  Hope it help..smile

Ahhh, this may be the problem..

“Coupon Code: Insert the code you want to use “

There is no option for this. Is there something I’ve turned off perhaps? Its v 1.3.0 so it should all be there?

... ok, soo, as sad as it is, it looks like ive been using Catalogue Rules, not Shopping Cart rules.

If nothing else, Jusneale, you directed me to the correct answer.
Thank you, so , so , , , much!
