I need your help....

Within our company we have some items we would like to be shown on our HP, but these items are not for sale. These items shall be shown as all other items we’ve got, but the should not be available for the shopping cart.

I know how to put the goods on the page for purchase.

We sell ammo, guns, rifles among many thousands other items, and the ammo, guns and rifles are not allowed to be send with our national postal service without the costumer will be charged an enormous amount of money.

All in all, we would like to show all of our goods on our page, but some of them “are not for sale” (if you understand)??

Will it work if you assign those products as out of stock status and display them to your visitors (System - Configuration - Inventory)?

You can use a ready-made solution for this - Custom Stock Display extension. Instead of the standard ‘Out of Stock’ Magento notification, the extension offers you to specify any text and/or images you wish to be displayed on the product page.

With Custom Stock Status Extension you can make the products which are out of stock be shown on product page. Module allows to create unlimited number of custom stock statuses and assign them to products together with the default statuses or instead of them.
