I have a requirement for the following:
For orders that will be delivered to a certain few postcodes close to the store/warehouse, the company will be using its own internal delivery system and therefore delivery will be free.
For deliveries outside of this area, delivery is undertaken by an external company, so I need to add a delivery charge to the order.
In addition to this, the store needs some way of inputting an expected “ready for delivery” date so the external delivery company knows when to expect to pick up the order from the store and deliver it to the customer.
Therefore the courier company needs its own portal to log in to, to see the outstanding deliveries and their expected ready dates. The courier company then needs to be able to use this portal to update the store to notify them that a successful delivery has been made.
Can Magento do any of this out of the box, are there any extensions that can do this, or is all of that completely custom development?
