hi....

You can try these following steps to solve your Problem:-

1) Login to admin section.

2) then go to “System >> Configuration >>Web >> Search Engines Optimization”
Use Web Server Rewrites : YES

3) Go to “System >> Configuration >>Web >>Secure”
Use secure URL Frontend: YES

4) Then add the following rules into ” /home/username/public_html/magento2/.htaccess ” file.

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /magento2/
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /shop/index.php [L]
</IfModule>

It’s a server administration issue, not a Magento issue. Sounds like mod_rewrite isn’t even being loaded. Ignore Magento for the time being and find a mod_rewrite setup tutorial. After you have a basic rewrite rule working, then come back to Magento.
