Hi there,

Last week I installed Magento ver. 1.7.0.2 without the sample data pack.
I don’t see any problems, except for one thing:

When you try to search (front-end) for a product, the page displays:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getCacheData() on a non-object in /vhosts/xxxxxxxxxxl/httpdocs/test/app/code/core/Mage/Catalog/Model/Layer.php on line 287

I have tried to replace the Layer.php with a fresh one but it doesn’t help. Also I have tried to reindex the “Catalog search index” at the index management., with no succes. (all the indexes are ready and green)

Who can help me out? Thanks in advance!

note: this error message is only related to the simple search. Advanced search is working properly
