Invalid channel URL. Packing for Magento Connect 1 and Magento Connect 2

hello guys,

i am tring to pack an extension for both Connect versions. I follow the documentation (i an using magento 1.6 for packing)
in multiple select Supported releases i select both lines
in the field channel i enter connect.magentocommerce.com/community.

but i get this error Invalid channel URL.

any help very much appreciated.

Hopefully you found the solution already, but for me it was related to the name being invalid. It didn’t tell me that the name was invalide, but when I removed the spaces and replaced with dashes, it saved no problem! Though, I never could get it to accept “connect.magentocommerce.com/community”.

I tried replacing connect.magentocommerce.com/community with http://connect.magentocommerce.com/community and it was saved successfully. Although I am still facing problems uploading it to MagentoConnect.
