Magento 1.7.0.2 C.E. - Group pricing not working in cart

I’m setting up a Magento webshop for a client. I’ve added group pricing from the Prices tab for a group of wholesalers, and whilst the price is displayed as ‘Special Price’, when added to cart the full price is used. I’ve found fixes for 1.4.x, unfortunately these do not apply. Ideas?

To whom it may concern, switching Scope in Config/Catalog to Website from Global worked.

Hi,

i have the same problem, but changing Catalog Price Scope to Website, doesn’t do anything for me. THe problem is still there… catalog has group prices but cart has normal prices.

Any other solutions?

Did someone find a solution to this problem? It appeared after I did an upgrade to 1.7. I tried switching the theme to the default and it appears there as well. I clear cache and re-indexed the product prices.

I show the proper group/tiered pricing on the product page, but when I add it to the cart it shows the regular price.
And I tried switching the scope.

So I have found that I set the group to All Groups then the pricing works. However, if you choose any other option it does not work.

Try to disable \"Enable Automatic Assignment to Customer Group\” in configuration ->Customer Configuration.
This work for me.
When I turn this on, normal prices are shown no matter if I logged in or not, when this is set to no and if I logged in, the price is shown for my costumer group.

’ Enable Automatic Assignment to Customer Group’ is for adding new users automatically to a certain user group based on their vat number. I tried to disable this function and this indeed solves the issue with group prices reverting to default price in the shopping cart and on checkout.

The problem is, I actually use this auto-group assign functionality so I can’t afford to disable this option. I guess this is a Magento bug because enabling or disabling this option shouldn’t have influence on the price that is displayed for a user that is already registrered and signed in. This option should only assign new users to a certain group upon registration.

Can anyone confirm that this is a bug? Is it a known issue? And is there a workaround?

Many thanks!

in \app\code\core\Mage\Sales\Model\Observer.php
add the following code in [changeQuoteCustomerGroupId] after the line [$customerInstance = $quoteInstance->getCustomer();]

//* do not change group if VATvalidating (=Enable Automatic Assignment to Customer Group) is on and Customer has 'locked' groupid
if ($addressHelper->isVatValidationEnabled($storeId) && $customerInstance->disable_auto_group_change {
return ;
}
