Our site is an e-commerce site. Whenever I amend a META Description in a product page, it doesn’t change from the original which appears on SERPs.

Can anybody help? Is this a job for a programmer?

Hi

Google SERP’s may take a few hours to note the changes.

As above, flush your Magento cache rather than just refresh it.

Thanks

According to Me SERP acronym for make or break your Online Marketing and Very E-commerce sites Struggle with their SEO. If E-commerce site will contain few Unique Meta description less than 3000 that Site will have faster rate and it will give no changes in SERP.
If it contain larger amount of data that will give Changes in SERP.

hi! I would definitely go for an on-page optimisation.
If you buy too many backlinks at once, you’re not only wasting money, but also you may get fined by google and none of the links would count. You wanna get a few quality backlinks than hundreds of paid ones.
here’s an interesting article for magento SEO

Once you update Meta description it will take time for search engines to update it. It’s not the task of programmer. It get updates only when search engine will crawl and index the update pages. Then only your changes will be visible in SERPs.

Hi.

First thing you should do is verifying yor page with a Google Webmaster Tools Account. That way you can manually ask Google to reindex your desired page. You will also get insight about a wide variety of your sites indexing status at Google which will in turn help you to optimize your page.

Regards
Jan

It will take some time for Google to re-index your page that you updated meta descriptions for. This could take a few days.

If you haven’t already, make sure to submit your sitemap to Google via their Webmaster Tools. They have the ability to view your xml sitemap. You should also have a hierarchical html sitemap as well.
