We use POSIM for windows but they also provide a mac version. They have a product called ePosim that runs independently as a linker service that uploads inventory via xml and downloads orders via xml. You would have to do the actual integration programming with magento in their php script but I would offer up any of our work we have done. Its been working very well for us the last year.

We are currently using Magento as our POS. It can be a little slower then using a scanner but it does not make more then a 10 second difference to our customers. We also give them the ability to see orders in realtime on our server which is a big perk for us. We do not use the Maison du logiciel extension because we do not think it adds enough for the price.
To speed up the checkout process we do use the Lemonline simpleadmin payment and do not track the payment type in store.  This allows you to automatically create a shipment and an invoice.
We also have found that now that we email receipts we print a quarter of the receipts we use.

Is anyone using Magento as a POS web front end on their register and what extensions are they using?  This would simplify my retail channel as we are not happy with the POS we have now for 20 stores.  We don’t do a high volume of transactions so we can deal with internet delay speed (which is not bad).

If you go the Quickbooks route, there’s small business inventory software that allows you to manage your online and offline inventory as well

Has anyone talked to AccuPOS Point of Sale about their POS Software?  They seem to be the solution to a lot of this.

I agree that Quickbooks is probably the best solution to your problem. Our company would be a great option, but we haven’t included Magento integration yet. I do however work with a bunch of people who use Magento and they seem to be content with the Quickbook option. Physical to digital point of sale integration can still be tricky and I wish you all the best!

Be sure to use a manual coding for that online purchasing and also that physical store purchasing.. We have also used manual coding to buy online products like Point of sales and Bar code systems… etc.

Also use that contribution available in magento community forum for ONline Purchasing..

Regards.

Has..

We recently intergrated JDA ( http://www.jda.com) with magento

this includes inventory, + orders for a client with over 200 stores.

if anyone wants this, feel free to send a pm. if enough people ask for it, we will gladly create an extension for it.

Cheers!

Hi,

I think our solution Brightpearl would offer the functionality you require. Brightpearl is an end to end business management system that connects your Magento webstore and POS to your back end business software (inventory, accounts, order management and more). There is also the ability to integrate the system with eBay as well.

The advantage of integrating all your sales channel through a single system is that all sales that you make will automatically update across all the channels. So you don’t need to import data back and forth between systems and will never sell the same item twice by mistake.

Our system is cloud based to so you’ll have no problem running it on a Mac, or indeed any computer. All you need is a Internet connection and you’re good to go.

We offer a 30 day free trial so you could have a good chance to take a look and assess whether it would be a suitable solution for you business.

At www.DigiCloud.com.au, we have been busy and we are in the final beta testing stages for our new product which will integrate Magento Go Hosted E-Commerce Solution with Vend Web Based Point Of Sale (www.vendhq.com)

How it works

1. Push / Get existing products / varients, product images, product descriptions & product quantity from Vend Point Of Sale to your Magento Go e-Commerce store.

2. Sync stock inventory quantities between Magento Go and Vend.

3. Automatically posts sales from your Magento Go store to your Vend account.

4. Automatically posts customer information from Magento Go and creates a Vend customer with a YTD balance.

5. Schedule / manual or automatically sync product information, you have the option.

* If you have a Magento Go Webstore and a Vend account and are interested in becoming a beta customer then please email us at sales@digicloud.com.au

We would also like to hear the communities thoughts on the above.

Thanks
