Did everybody test to take a connection from Magento to Adempiere?

one of main issues is that adempiere runs on postgre, magento on mysql

i have been looking at posterita (which is built on adempiere) as POS for Magento, but really it looks like it is a big project. You could use a system like Jitterbit to sync the databases though, or at least products to Magento and customers / orders back to adempiere.
