When I chose an custom option (eg. XL t-shirt + £5.50) my original product price changes to zero within the product page rather than updating to the increased value.
However the correct price is displayed within the shopping cart.

Dose anyone know what is causing this issue and what I need to do to get this working correctly?

Hi all,

I’m experiencing almost the same issue…

Once I add a product with options in backend, the first time I load the frontend product page it shows the regular price. However, when I reload the page the price turns into 0.00 (zero). Both in Product Essential field and Product Options field. It seems like for a millisecond the correct price is shown but then it changes to 0.00 zero, every time I reload the page again and again.

The correct price for this ‘optional product’ is shown on the category page and when this item is added to the shopping cart. Just on the product page it shows zero.

This problem also happens for configurable products.

I think it might be some javascript error and maybe a conflict with an extension. I’ve tried and disabled extensions and Googled for a few hours but without any luck…

An upgrade from version 1.6.2.0 to 1.7.0.0 did the job

The release notes for Magento version 1.7.0.0 do indeed contain a lot of fixes regarding price issues for custom option and configurable products. Here’s a couple of them:

- Fixed: Issue with final price calculation for Configurable product with sub products
- Fixed: Configurable product displaying double price when choosing option
- Fixed: Incorrect price for bundle fixed product with custom option % and catalog price rule applied
- Fixed: Incorrect product price for Bundle products with fixed prices in the shopping cart
- Fixed: Incorrect price calculation of configurable product with custom options (resolved conflicts)
- Fixed: Incorrect final price for configurable products if several custom options used
- Fixed: HTTP 500 error on frontend for bundle fixed with percent options enabled for sub-products
- Fixed: Wrong calculation price of Bundle product with Fixed price, when special price is configured
- Fixed: Incorrect price calculation of configurable product with custom options
- Fixed: Regular price displays incorrect
- Fixed: Wrong calculation product price with custom option type = Field and Fixed price
- Fixed: Incorrect rounding for product with custom options (percent price)
- Fixed: Bundle product total is incorrect in Customization block

I’ll soon try and upgrade from 1.6.2.0 to 1.7.0.0 myself and post back if this fixes the issue for me…

An upgrade from version 1.6.2.0 to 1.7.0.0 did the job

It’s incredible! For me 1.6.2 works and after 1.7 NO.

Please fix it!!

Solved for 0 price! Just replace app/design/frontend/[TEMPLATE]/catalog/products/view/options.phtml file with some file but in /BASE folder.

Just upgraded to 1.7 and ran into this issue. Replacing the options.html from base folder fixed the problem.

Okay, upgraded Magento installation from 1.6.2.0 to 1.7.0.0 with help from a friend…

This fixed the problem for me!

I didin’t know it was broken til after a few day’s of upgrading to 1.7. Searched, found this awnser, and got it working inmediatly. Thanks to the author for this.

Having same issue… I’m on 1.7....

Not sure I understand the fix… Am I supposed to copy the options.phtml file from base into my product folder of my template? If so , that didn’t work for me either (my theme doesn’t even have an options.phtml file)

When I add to cart the correct price is shown.

Also don’t have this file in my directory - if someone could do a detailed reply and solution I would really appreciate it!
