Hello, hoping someone can help me out here. I’ve searched for an answer but found none.

I’ve set up my store, re-styled it, everything is fine. Now I want to make the ‘My Account’ section secure with my SSL (which I already have installed), I would also like to do this for the backend.

I know which settings I need to change in the Configuration, i.e, Web > Unsecure and Web > Secure.

What I don’t get is which files I need to move into my HTTPS - I do need to do this don’t I?

It had occurred to me that I could just duplicate all the files from HTTP and put them in HTTPS, but that seems ridiculous! So which files do I need to move?

Any help really appreciated.

i just wonder how you people like to mess around magento, without even little knowledge…
no need to move your files anywhere.
just set ssl for frontend and backend, thats it.

now if you configured your server properly,
you will go https if you click my account or login etc.

My knownledge isn’t that great, but indeed…
You need to move your files however to the SSL directory of your provider.

Or am I missing anything. When it’s not at the SSL directory (or https directory), that site won’t respond…

Hi! Actually, SSL doesn’t mean moving anywhere, it’s the certificate that you buy and it encrypts your data, so that it is difficult to eavesdrop. In the adress bar, you see https instead of http as the sign for ‘secure’. The directory is the same, you just add a protocol fro data protection.
