Hi,

i was trying to install magento 1.6.2 on a VPS

This server meet all the megento requirements.

i got the error below on configuration page.

“The URL “http://www.mydomain.com/” is not accessible.
Unable to read response, or response is empty”

Could not processed to next step until i select “Skip Base URL validation”

does anyone know what could be causing the problem for this error? and is it ok to “Skip Base URL automatic validation”

Yes, just click on “Skip Base URL Validation” and that test is ommitted at that point.
