Howdy,
New to the board, and attempting to update from 1.4.2 to 1.6 utilizing these instructions:

When I get to: $ ./mage install http://connect20.magentocommerce.com/community Mage_All_Latest --force
I get a Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 18350080) (tried to allocate 5767169 bytes) in downloader/lib/Mage/Archive/Gz.php on line 66
Searching the boards, I have adjusted the htaccess to the full 512 MB allowed, and also attempted modifying the index.php to ini_set(’memory_limit’, ‘512M’);
This has not helped. I also contacting my hosting (inmotionhosting.com) and was not able to make headway.
Any assistance would be great.
