Hello all
I’m trying to upgrade from 1.4.1 to (not the latest version) 1.6.1. Tried several methods, but this one here is so far the best one: http://duntuk.com/magento-upgrade-15

But, that method upgrades to the latest 1.6.2 – and I just want 1.6.1. Is this possible? My guess (but I can be wrong) is to change something in this command:

./mage install http://connect20.magentocommerce.com/community Mage_All_Latest --force

But to what?

All help is welcome smile
Regards, Magnus

Just download 1.6.1 and update the files manually if you want to upgrade to a specific version

Hello
I’m not sure I follow you. I have tried (several times) to install a fresh 1.6.1 and then import the 1.4.1 database – with no luck (SQLSTATE[42S01]: Base table or view already exists: 1050 Table ‘customer_form_attribute’ already exists").

Or do you mean I should copy and replace each file in the 1.4.1 version with the 1.6.1 version. There are a lot of files… wink

Regards, Magnus

I was wondering the exact same thing because I don’t want to upgrade to 1.7 quite yet for fear that some of my extensions won’t yet be compatible. Is there a way to upgrade to a specific version instead of just “All_Latest”?

Same issue.... Anyone knows what the command should be if you’re not interested in the Latest version?

Hi Brake6,

Did you consider using Cart2Cart. They offer migration from your current Magento store to a fresh installation. You can move products, categories, etc. It’s much easier than upgrading because you won’t get all those error messages and it will take less time.

In first step we need to take a back up from the database, files and then need to connect server via SSH protocol. Secondly we need to execute the upgrading commands step by step procedure. For example If we give “. /pear mage-setup” it will upgrade from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2 and “./mage upgrade-all –force” command gives a Upgrading version of Magento 1.6.1
