Our Australian affiliate who is based in Melbourne has mentioned Salsa Digital and Blissmedia as decent. Both have operations in Melbourne I believe. Be careful with the preset hours though as many of these developers will require you to “prebuy” a set number of hours, usually around 50 which can be a bit much of a sunk cost. Some, as we discovered, will ask for “evaluation” of your site which will require another 10 to 50 hours. While I believe that preset hours is fair, try to negotiate it down to around 10 if you can. The evaluation of your site I think is total nonsense I would recommend you eliminate if you like them or just plain do not work with such a developer. Hope that helps.
