Looking into this now. Will update once i find solution.

UPDATE##

So, I replaced my adminhtml folder in the core files with the one that was on my pc and admin came back. It is possible that a file in the adminhtml folder was still set to tmp.*** when the upgrade completed.

I upgraded to 1.2.0.2 to get this problem.

Elfling, you were lucky, but not for me!
I even replaced all three admin folders of v1.2.0 from my pc, but it did work.
I reported a bug and i hope the team will work it out very soon.

I fixed this problem by resubmitting the configuration for “Startpage”, set to “Dashboard”.

(you might have to set it to another value first, i.e. set it to products, save, set to dashboard, save again)
hope this helps
