The search on my newly updated 1.2.0 Magento does not work as it crashes as soon as I click ‘Rebuild’ Search Indexes in Cache Management.

The error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function setAttribute() on a non-object in /var/www/magento/app/code/core/Mage/Eav/Model/Entity/Attribute/Abstract.php on line 351

Line 350-1 on Abstract.php reads:

$this->_source = Mage::getModel($this->getSourceModel())
->setAttribute($this);

Please help as 1.2.0 is unusable without Search.

Many thanks,

Phillip Hughes

I had the same error message,
and decided to delete my whole Product Stock, for there seems to any database issue.
that was impossible, for an error that “store_id” coulld not be found in the fieldlist.

I did unassign all Products from the main website in the backend, Then I could delete them, and was able to rebuild the Index without errors.
perhaps It’s worth a try to unassign the whole stock, and reassign it lateron in backend under “update Attributes.”

Regards, Jimbo

Seems there is a little more info from the community here:
http://www.magentocommerce.com/bug-tracking/issue?issue=4631

I am having this issue as well, will try some of the workarounds listed above, and will report back here.

I was able to clear this issue up by deleting my multi-select input attributes, rebuilding the index, and then re-creating the attributes with quick search, comparable, and use in search results set to No.

Not sure what one(s) cause the issue, hopefully I won’t have to. wink

Quicksearch seems to be the culprit in the cases that we’ve seen.
