Same problem upgrading from 1.1.4 to 1.2.1. Tried the recommendation from http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/27722/ to remove multi-selects from Quick Search, but still got the error. Does this change have to be made before the upgrade?

Backup DB and try this afterwards:

DELETE FROM `core_resource` WHERE CONVERT(`core_resource`.`code` USING utf8) = ‘googlecheckout_setup’ LIMIT 1;
DROP TABLE `googlecheckout_api_debug`;

This will force Magento to re-install the GoogleCheckout Module from scratch, hopefully fixing the error mentioned here. It did it for me.

Thanks Novalis,

I tried your method but still the same issue.... I found this has something to do with Product Attribute Set.

Hi,

oh, I think I posted this to the wrong thread wink There’s a similar issue going on that has a very similar error message, but with the GoogleCheckout Module. This seems to be a common issue with Magento with all the threads coming up in different modules. If anybody has the problem with the Google Checkout Module, look here: http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/27166/

Anyway, the solution could be the same in this case… although I don’t know if deleting the Catalog Module and all its tables will erase all products/categories too wink

Bump, this just happened to me upgrading to 1.3.2.3. Seems like an old issue. Was anyone able to work around it?
