I just purchased MAMP Pro and is going to install Magento on local server; however I see that it comes with SQLiteManager version 1.2.0. Is this equivalent to mySQL 4.1.2 that Magento requires? Can you tell me if I need to run a custom installation on mySQL.

Thanks!

Hi, SQLiteManager is just a front-end for managing SQLite databases - this is not the same thing as MySQL.  You should check the documentation for MAMP Pro for setting up MySQL databases.  I’m sure the version it installs should be fine with Magento, but you definately can’t use SQLite.
