THANK YOU icesh,

Cannot say how much this has helped me out. Just wanted to say to everyone also make sure you refresh the Cach after you added the code as layout files are stored in the Cache this caused a bit of head pickling for me or a while until I realised this.

Brillaint Thanks Again

:D

oh ok, it looks like your theme is not support for magento 1.6.1.0

go to:
app/design/frontend/default/[your_custom_theme_folder]/layout/customer.xml

add these codes:

<customer_account_resetpassword translate="label">
        <
label>Reset a Password</label>
        <
remove name="right"/>
        <
remove name="left"/>

        <
reference name="head">
            <
action method="setTitle" translate="title" module="customer">
                <
title>Reset a Password</title>
            </
action>
        </
reference>
        <
reference name="root">
            <
action method="setTemplate">
                <
template>page/1column.phtml</template>
            </
action>
            <
action method="setHeaderTitle" translate="title" module="customer">
                <
title>Reset a Password</title>
            </
action>
        </
reference>
        <
reference name="content">
            <
block type="customer/account_resetpassword" name="resetPassword" template="customer/form/resetforgottenpassword.phtml"/>
        </
reference>
    </
customer_account_resetpassword>

This worked for me on 1.7.0.2. I almost forgot to clear my cache but after doing so, it worked just fine. Thanks!

I used this fix and it worked like a charm.  For those that are still having trouble I thought that maybe seeing the entire customer.xml code would help so I have attached it to this post.  And make sure to clear the cache!  rasberry I hope this helps! good luck!

Fix still worked in 1.7.0.0. Thanks out to the original poster.

People/companies that create custom themes, please get your code updated so that people won’t have to hunt for this fix.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to Magento and I have same error as many developer has.
I did same things that you are mentioned in this forum, I have searched alot and found that same solution like update XML code or Delete XML.

I have upgraded to latest version of Magento. I have custom theme. What I have done I am listing here:

I have changed XML code. (customer.xml)
I have deleted XML file.
I have cleared all caches.

Thanks
Ashwani
