For those that may run into this issue here is my experience.

When running the wizard after having all the sample data installed correctly, if you choose to add a prefix to the database tables (eg \\\"m_\\\")
then the wizard creates the tables again with the prefix. The number of tables in the database will double. 324 table is the default sample data.

hope this will be useful.

I’ve already put the table prefix in!

Other than another fresh install can i change the sample data prefixes and merge the tables?

Thanks

Following up with the last poster’s question ... I’ve already installed Magento with the sample data but then used a table prefix during installation, what are my options now to get the sample data into the correct tables? Or are my only options to purge the DB, purge the file system and start over again but this time, do NOT specify a table prefix?

And if I’ve got the sample data installed, can I remove the sample data when I’m done testing, or is it best to start with a new installation when I’m ready for production?
