I was trying to add a new admin user and somehow managed to set the permissions so that no one can get into the admin screen now. I somehow managed to change the roles or some other setting. Now no one can login to the admin screen.
It would seem that this should be impossible to do, but I managed to do it. Other than reinstalling the software, does anyone have any ideas?
Your database seems to be corrupted.
The passwords are not encrypted.
You made changes by hand directly in the database, didn’t you ?
You can try the following :
1) Backup your database (db1)
2) Install from scratch a new Magento into a new database (db2). Use the same encryption key as your previous installation.
3) Copy the 3 tables content from db2 into db1
Try to connect (into your previous Magento installation) with the admin account your created at step 2.
If this doesn’t work, i guess you should work with a brand new Magento installation.
