We are using Magento Community Edition for the past 2 years. For majority of the extensions that we have found useful we came upon them while browsing newly uploaded extensions in Magento Connect.

Right now the only way to sort them is by “Most Popular” “Most Reviewed” and “Price”

I am sure it would be beneficial for magento ecommerce platform users, developers whose extensions can’t be considered popular or have significant amount of review right after being published and for Magento itself since it will bring an additional revenue source from customers who are not aware of new extensions.

i saw this too and i hate it! i have seen sql and sorting before and i know it is very easy. the old one would sort and this one does not. the easiness of adding the sort and the removal of sort by date from the old one can only mean they have decided they do not care about users finding new extensions.

i think the community should fork magento connect and add features that actually help users find new extensions like sorting by date, rss feeds, and more.

It would be helpful to know what the newest magento extension are as they are released. Hope this gets to magento team to add a feature on magento connect to have a page dedicated to new extension releases. Cheers

Yes, this is driving me crazy. I\’ve written them about it and not received any replies. A sort by newest is very much needed . . .

In the old days (pre-ebay) Magento was transparent they gave new extensions a chance to be discovered. Now all they care about are “Featured” extensions.  Please bring back sorting by release date!

I didn’t think about the Ebay connection, but does make you wonder . . .

There are almost 10 different discussions on this issue, but no way to know an official Magento answer. You can also see that RSS for new extension right now are disable.

I think that the Magento\’s determination not to give information is the clearer answer....

Any Magento Moderators have anything to say about this?

I would like this feature to come back as well.
Some features are innovative and improve your website.

Hopefully magento will add it soon. Also Magento Connect Twitter account doesn’t tweet about new extensions when they’re uploaded.
A bit dissapointing

Seriously, the lack of response makes me really question the magento platform. Adding this should really be trivial yet it takes months to do it without any comment from anyone in charge. Obviously the community is demanding it. What is the deal?
