Is there anyway magento (community edition 1.5) can accomodate the following custom invoice functionality or something similar - maybe something along the lines of create a “hidden” product tailored for one off use then deleted after purchase ie. not a visible product link from magento site but can be seen with correct URL:

- Create a custom/one-off invoice for a particular customer purchase - product title, description, $ amount etc
- Customer is provided a link (automatically or emailed manually by administrator) that takes them to magento site to pay the invoice as per normal checkout facilities (credit card, bank deposit etc)

Sam - Perth.

Would there also be a site or would you only be using Magento for the payment functionality?

You could set the stock on the product to 1 and after it has purchased would then not be available.

You could build a standalone 3rd party script / module to accommodate the functionality, could do with more information?

will be a proper magento ecommerce site with products.

is the process of creating a one off product (with stock of \’1\’ as suggested) quick and easy to be used for this purpose? Can a URL link to this one off product page be created to send to email to customer for checkout but not appear in magento website products list that others\’ attempt to purchase?

currently planning magento site so unsure how feasible these options are.

Apologies for the delay.

Realistically if you only have one product at a time enabled then they would only be able to purchase one product.

You would have to have no categories and simply redirect the home page to the “available” product.

So with that said, you could in theory send an email showing a link to the product and processing the rest of the transaction from there.  Would you want to show content pages? e.g. faqs, terms etc?

Would you want to show a home page? Show user account information?

site would be a full magento ecommerce sit with products available for purchase.

What I understand is that I can create a product (with stock inventory of one) that won’t be otherwise listed anywhere on the site (how does one do this?), that would allow me to email a specific URL to a customer where they could purchase the product following usual checkout procedures?

Well you could point individual urls to people easy enough, you would have to remove the access to the category page which would like the products.

With no real experience you could hack apart a template (using template hints) to achieve that.

So in theory, there is no category list page you would simply get the product url from the backend of Magento and then send to your customer for purchase.
