Hi,

would be nice if a “Ask seller a question” form could be integrated.
Something like the one one can find at ebay.

We often find that people just send an email asking something about a product but do not
give the article number or sku. Thus it should be added below the “add to wish list” text
so that the email we receive from the customers will automatically display the article name and the SKU.

No. We do not like to integrate chat or voip things on our page.

The “ask seller a question” feature should be textual and done via email.
Just like an usual order or “send to a friend” feature.

well actually we would only need the customers to send us their question or request for quotation about the selected article.
It should be something like a request for a quote. Sometimes the articles have to be adapted (which cannot be shown in the shopping-cart application) or people want to get a quote before buying.

So the questions should not be shown on the products page.

This kinda differes from what you’re looking for. Sorry for me not explaining it the right way.
Maybe it should be called “ask for a quote"-feature instead?

If you like to use something like “Send to a friend”, why you don’t try to duplicate that funtionality and change the behaivors?

I am looking for something like this too BrandLive, could you explain a bit how we could duplicate the “send to a friend” function to adapt it to this? I thought about that but I would know where to start. Please! :D

Look at /app/code/core/Mage/Sendfriend

There you got that module.
Maybe you can start to play a little with the code, creating a copy.
For this work, you need to see something about custom modules.

Email is relatively unreliable. I’d rather use our Cerb4 HelpDesk system’s API and have the message go straight in there. Thanks for prompting me to the idea.
