Price, special_price go from “website” to “global” scope in 1.1.8 vs 1.1.7

This would be VERY bad, we were counting on being able to run multiple websites off the same database installation.

check your admin/system/configuration/catalog/price options. there’s an ability to set price scope [global/website]

This did not work for me.  I have 2 stores and want different pricing.

My store options in the upper left hand of the admin screen is

“default values” (i.e. all stores default info)
“store 1”
“store 2”

By switching from Global to Website I can set different pricing in any of those 3 options BUT when I put different pricing in store 1 or store 2 it automatically saves it in the other store as well.  In other words the pricing in the 2 different stores or always saved as the same value.  So it does not work.

Now what?

Thanks Dustin

Pricing is scoped at the global or website scope only. Store-scoped pricing will require custom programming and is fairly involved.
