For two days I get up and check my email and paypal is sending me PayPal Instant Payment Notification Warning:

Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:

http://skaynopoyos.com/catalog/checkout_process.php

If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.

Thanks,

PayPal

So I navigated to:
paypal.com>signin>history>IPN History>Last 5 Days

There are 5 IPN records there and I check out the transaction IDs and each transaction is related to eBay or Etsy NOT my Magento site (http://skaynopoyos.com)

Also the information in:

paypal.com>signin>click on profile>my selling tools>Instant Payment Notifications “Update">

http://skaynopoyos.com/catalog/checkout_process.php

I know from my Magento site that information is not correct but I am not sure what I am supposed to change it to.

I suspect two problems:
1) Paypal is trying to send ANY Paypal transaction (even ebay and etsy) to: http://skaynopoyos.com/catalog/checkout_process.php which it should ONLY be doing it for my Magento Store (http://skaynopoyos.com)
2) The information in Paypal for the IPN (http://skaynopoyos.com/catalog/checkout_process.php) is incorrect.

Please let me know how to correct these problems.

I temporarily turned off the IPN until I can get this figured out. Please post a reply if you have any solutions.

Even though I thought I turned it off, I am continuing to get these IPN failures from PayPal. I hope someone here knows what the problem is and can help me fix it soon.

Does anyone know the correct path to properly set up IPN for this situation?

Thank you again friend for your response.

The only url I can seem to locate is found:

paypal.com>signin>click on profile>my selling tools>Instant Payment Notifications “Update">

http://skaynopoyos.com/catalog/checkout_process.php

If there is some other location that I am unaware of please let me know.

Thank you.

Since your using same paypal account for ebay as well, all ipn responses will go to
http://skaynopoyos.com/catalog/checkout_process.php
even i payments are made through ebay. In paypal ipn, i dont think we can put a check that depending on where the order is placed it send IPN to different URL.

The solution i see is you create a separate paypal id for your ebay store. Or else you need to once post your problem on Paypal forums, to find if there is any solution of have muliple IPN URL.

Please go through my blog here, it has many magento tutorials and articles. Please subscribe to our rss feed to get latest blog updates.

Okay I will check into the things you suggested.
But I have one last question concerning this.

This is obviously the wrong path:

http://skaynopoyos.com/catalog/checkout_process.php

But I don’t know how to find out what the right path is.

Oh yes, i forgot to look at that.

Starting with Magento 1.4.0.0, the ipn url is now : http://www.yoursite.com/paypal/ipn/standard/, however since 1.4.1.0 it changed again to be just http://www.yoursite.com/paypal/ipn/
