I was on magentoconnect and I added the following template http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/WebAndPeople/extension/5305/wp_theme_grayscale.  When It was installed I went to the front end and got a 503 error, I couldn\\\\\\\’t get into the back end either.  I was able to solve the issue by reinstalling magento.

I actually attempted this twice to make sure it was the template that was causing the error and the same thing happened.

Has anyone experienced this issue and how did you fix it so I can use this template?  I\\\\\\\’m using Magento 1.6.

Make sure file permissions are set correctly.

Remove the maintenance.flag file from the Magento installation directory. This should fix the 503 error.

Hi,

Just remove the file maintenance.flag from your Magento root directory and your website is back.

Basically, adding the file maintenance.flag Magento takes your website under maintenance. And removing it your site is back.

Thanks

Monty

Hello,

This answer should be correct:
Remove the maintenance.flag file from the Magento installation directory. This should fix the 503 error.
