Hi,

I’m trying to setup a test site (test.example.com) of current running site (http://www.example.com). So that I can test some features before I put it into production site.
I have backed up the database into sql file. And zipped the whole site into a zip file.

In the test site machine, I setup the env that matches the requirements: http://www.magentocommerce.com/system-requirements
I created a database user with a password that exactly the same as my production site.
I created a database with the same name as my production site and granted all privileges to the user.
I imported the sql into the database I created.

Then I unzipped the zip file to the root of test.example.com . Changed last line of “.htaccess” from
RewriteRule ^/?$ “http\:\/\/www\.example\.com” [R=301,L]
to
RewriteRule ^/?$ “http\:\/\/test\.example\.com” [R=301,L]

I use browser to access test.example.com, but I get blank screen and the url bar says
http://test.example.com/report/?id=67455082&s;=default

No error found in Apache error.log

Can someone help me out?

Thanks in advance!

best,
Hailong Zhang

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried to change the config in database. But the result is the same. I’m still getting blank page with url “http://test.example.com/report/?id=-1952155605&s;=default”

I didn’t see any error.... it just doesn’t work :-(

I got the problem.

1. The folder permission requirement is different between two env. The test machine requires 777 on some folders like “media”. I think this is caused by different apache settings.
2. I didn’t clear the magento cache.
3. The test machine does not have php curl.
