No Messages… !!!

Have tried about 10-12 times whith fresh installations!
whatever i klick on the 3. step of installation routine… the PC “hangs"… no further 4. step :-(
In the Messagewindows i see the Betaversion downlod is running several minutes… but then… NOTHING !

I made the preparations, using my own tutorial… http://wp.peperkorn-online.de/?p=72
I tried XAMMlit and XAMMP… different Versions
I changed the .htacces to rewrite the right path…

no hope… :-(

I also want to test Magento on my XAMPP localhost testing server built on my Windows XP desktop computer.

But, it is really a fucking difficult process !!!!!

I had read the guide about Installing on Windows with XAMPP and WAMP , but it can’t solve my problem.

My problem is: I met the Download Updates page, but I don’t know which one to choose !!

See attached screenshot image. There is 3 options.  I think I had downloaded the full package for installation, why download any updates AGAIN?

Since I am running XAMPP on windows OS, I can’t run those PEAR commands.

Then how can I get through this installation procedure?

Hi Moshe…

THANKS, that’s it !!!! My 14. trying to install this version! And now it runs. PUHHH!!!

But be so kind, and change the installation routine, please!
I know, that you “hardcore-proggies” do’nt like Microsoft and the IE Browser, but think over!

The millions and millions of users, using MS Produkts !!! Do you want to miss them as your “klients” ???

A good software MUST be handeled with all modern browsers , what do you think?

And please, change the text inside the 3. sheet of the installation routine.
Precise it, so that a user “knows” what to do, if he/she wants to install your beautifull eCommerce script on his/her localhost wink

OK, now i can make my next trial inside Magento…
The best Newcomer in eCommerce since my last 35 years of “playing” whith MACs and PCs grin

Believe me it wasn’t due to malicious intent smile

Anyway, it’s fixed in next release.

@baijianpeng: Use Firefox and press “Continue SVN Installation”

Thanks, by this trick it works this time.

But, why no support for IE browser ? Why you did NOT said this in the Windows/XAMPP installing guide ?

Hope you will improve this installation program later.
