Check it out everyone ... simple changes in format and pictures - works wonders on Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 server .... you can simply browse it for now at http://www.asktp.com/ecommerce/magento.
Will be coming out with more updates here and in the Install forum as soon as I start importing my 3.5GB database from the old OSCOMMERCE 2.2 MS front.
Patience patience patience ... and it will work .
Magento team !!! Praise for all your excellent work…
i think this forum area is losing its initial goal…
i’m pretty sure it wasnt meant to be used so people would just link a default installation of magento.
in review of this particular post, the ‘asktp.com’ portion you added to the main logo looks very jagged and pixelated. i dont see any other noticeable changes...*shrug*
Come on now. The Showoff forum is where we all say “Great!”, “Yay” even for the smallest achievements. Like we do when small children fall and then get up again without crying.
Let him be proud that he managed to install the script. It may be the first time for him.
And when he gets back to show you he has learned how to change the background color, compliment him yet again.
Just a quick follow-up - changed a few things on it .... it is time for dbase update ... please monitor http://www.asktp.com/ecommerce/magento and please, give me your feedback ...
Hello everyone again.
Looks like my saga continues - as I found out it’s a bit complicated to bring stuff back on-line in very little time - anyway ... site is back-up and again: you guys can humor me - I take your points accordingly ..
well have a look at either http://www.asktp.com (delayed effect to ->) or http://commerce.asktp.com - and let me know what you guys think ... i know I know it is still a modified stock site .. but my point here is to bring my store back on-line in no time at all so business can flow back ... so at least I completely finished the main page and a few products ....
so, having said that ... fire away ...
And as always - my gratitude to the entire Magento team for the fenomenal work done ...
I would recommend hiring a web designer to help you out with your site. It could be much more professional and legit looking IMO. If I happened to end up on your site I would definitely leave within 1 or 2 seconds because it looks a scam site. Having a polished image will increase your visitor retention and most likely help your sales out in the long run too. Best of luck to you!
Revamping the entire site is a lengthy process - but check out the new interface (totally optimized for IE 7.0 and Firefox, Safari browsers).
sans the pictures though .. there are products in the Telephony category as I started inputting to the database from the bottom down - Also I am in process of implementing the GoogleCheckout via the existent Authorize.net payment system - looks like it is working ok with the Sandbox test system from Google… will keep you posted.
very depressing - waste of time posting these useless “look at me” sites, when they look so much like the original. i would highly recommend hiring a professional to do the skinning for you. These substandard sites actually make the Magento product look quite unprofessional.
