I presume most have heard, but UK VAT rates are being lowered to 15% for the next 13 months from December 1st 2008.

Where exactly in the admin configuration can you change the VAT rate? I can’t seem to find it!

Many thanks,

Jamie

for all my products I have entered the full RRP (which until yesterday included VAT at 17.5%). However today the RRP needs to be lower how can I do this without editing each of my products prices?

To make this clearer. I have now set VAT to 15% but Magento just takes the Inc VAT price using the ‘Price’ listed in the products details and then works out 15% off this price so NONE of my prices have changed they are all still showing at the same price there where before.....

What I want to happen is for the price to reduce by 2.5% rather than just displaying the same RRP

Hi

I am sure there is more than one way to do this, but i would look at exporting your products out and then making the change in the CSV file and then re importing them in.

as I said I expect there are other ways, but if you have a lot of products i think this could be the quickest way

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that there might be another way of doing it.

Has everyone setup their store like this (with the RRP price - so you all have to now go through your products and reduce the price?)?

When I make the update should I really just enter the prices excl. VAT and then set it so ‘Prices don’t include VAT’ in the backend so it marks the price up by 15%?

Thank you,
Tom

Hi

Is it a stupid suggestion that you just absorb it as a small price rise? Works in your favour.

Cheers

VAT (Tax Rate) - you can set this from admin panel of the magento easily

Just you have to go to to - Admin>Sales>Tax>Manage Tax Rules and create a rules with correct taxes for particular country.

Clear your cache and refresh the page.

All set......
