I notice now there are 3 types of installation methods.

But I also notice that, SVN and PEAR are not compatible with eachother?

To achieve the most compatibility, is PEAR the best installation method that you guys prefer?

SVN method is for developers mostly, PEAR installation will be needed for module upgrades and custom modules.

But what is the right way to work with it?

I’m also using SVN. But I can’t understand how to do it with magento.
I’ve just installed magento on my localhost. I also want to install it on development server, but should I do it via ftp and than magento/install. Or I can checkout via SVN. And if I install some extensions, should I install it on my localhost and on dev server via magento connect. Or I can do it only on localhost and than update to dev server via SVN?

makcuk, i assume you are a developer ?

if not, you should use PEAR to manage magento upgrade etc..
