Hi Guys,

I made an upgrade from magento 1.4.x to 1.5.0.1, I hava all products and had reindex data disabled cache and flushed all elements from store after migration but when I try to search for a product it returns no results, products are there visible and available for search. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

I had a similar problem and found clues looking through other similar topic threads. I did the following:

1) Changed the Search Type to: Combine (Like and Fulltext)

System->Configuration->Catalog->Catalog Search

2) Re-indexed the “Catalog Search Index”

System->Index Management

(I had a couple in there that said “REINDEX REQUIRED”.)

I clicked the “Reindex” link.

These alone appeared to clear my problem. I can’t say for sure if the Search Type had to be changed, but I think I prefer having a fulltext option.

I have read in other posts that you may also have to clear your cache.

System->Cache Management

Good luck!

Hello,

In fact, default search is not perfect. Very often a user doesn’t find what he was looking for and leaves the store. Good decision is to integrate the Sphinx search engine. It greatly improves the quality and relevance of search results. Look at Sphinx Search Ultimate
