I discovered these cool drop-down menus which are javascript based. Is it possible to use these in a Magento store?

http://www.leigeber.com/2008/04/sliding-javascript-dropdown-menu/

I want to add them to the fom.mini.phtml, which is where I currently have static links as menu items.

You would have to imbed it into the boxes.css file, and then call it out in the .phtml file that you wish depending on where you would like the menu to go.

I’d just written this category menu tutorial using jQuery Superfish. The animiation effect can be inserted easily like so:

jQuery(function(){
jQuery(’ul.sf-menu’).superfish({
pathClass:  ‘current’,
animation: {height:’show’}, // slide-down effect without fade-in
delay:  1200 // 1.2 second delay on mouseout
});

you might want to read my article first before making the comment, and perhaps do a search on jQuery in this forum, which I have responded to many posts regarding how to make jQuery works in Magento smile

Yes, I am aware of that; which is why I made the jQuery MagentoConnect module.

fair enough! Though your comment sounded like jQuery couldn’t work in Magento.

And I didn’t realize you are the jQuery widget author. How come you didn’t response to my question in your widget review? I am not your competitor trying to find out how you did your widget, rather, I was interested in purchasing that widget to speed up my production, but you didn’t provide enough information for me to spend my dollars. What a pity!
