hay,
my name is rami. an old friend.

i just back to magento and tried to install magento 1.5.1.
i click on the “Continue” button and what happen next is: Setup keeping load forever after click on the “Continue” button

it happens on the first page: Welcome to Magento’s Installation Wizard!

how can i solve it?

After some time waiting i get this message:

Internal Server Error

just a thought, is the server compatbile with magento?

Yes. he is. I check it with the check tool.
By the way- i host my site in the same server i was install magento succssfully before!

You can ask the web hosting support to help you with this. Some of my clients always encounter this problem.

They dont give support for magento. I tried to talk with them but they say they dont give support for magento and magento installation.
The funny thing is that i use before to work with them and i install magento succsfully.

Can you access the server error logs, maybe there’s something inside the apache log.
Can you install on a localhost and then possibly transfer everything to your host?

whats in the magento log files?

apache log files might have something also

you sure

you should be able to at least ftp onto your server

are you on a shared server, a vps or dedicated?

at least you should be able to get to the magento error logs

in the public_html directory
/var/log/

i am on a shared server.
i have ftp accsess.
and i try to install magento 1.5.1 and 1.6rc2

there is no such folder call log under var directory on /www/ nor /public_html/.
only those:

cache
connect
package
session
and an .htaccess file.

by the way- here is the magento check (from magento-check.php) results:

it was the Ad muncher program that block it to go to the next page. thanks guys!
