Hi,

I think I have Magento version 1.1.3. I installed it in the summer, changed the theme, then - a newer version came out and I tried to use the Magento Connect to do the upgrade automatically. It did not work then and it does not work now when I try to upgrade to Magento 1.1.7 - keeps giving me a 404 not found 1 message:

Whoops, our bad…

The page you requested was not found, and we have a fine guess why.

* If you typed the URL directly, please make sure the spelling is correct.
* If you clicked on a link to get here, the link is outdated.

When I login through FTP - I actually find the downloader folder - it is located at:

http://my.server.com/downloader

When I type in the URL into a browser - I get the same Error message eventhough this folder actually exists and has the following files and folders in it:

Someone please help....

Where are you getting the 404?

Have you pasted this in Magento Connect:

magento-core/Mage_All_Latest

then installed? then changed the permission of index.php in the magento folder to 755?

I’ve changed the index.php permissions like you said. I don’t have a ‘Magento’ folder - it is installed in my root directory.

What exactly do you mean by:

As for where I’m seeing this - I see it right in the webpage itself. I clik on the link in the Admin or type in the URL at the top and see this on the page (a page comes up with the new theme and this Error message)

Would anyone know how I can upgrade to the newest version?

Just to be clear: can you give us the url -minus your domain name- of your 404 error?

Have you made a backup (SQL & files) before trying to upgrade?
The simplier way would be to restore both of them.

If not do a backup now. Also try to be sure of the version you tried to update from.

First clean your cache (delete everything under “var/cache” and “var/session") and try again.
While you are at it delete everything under:
app/downloader/pearlib/cache/
app/downloader/pearlib/docs/
app/downloader/pearlib/download/
app/downloader/pearlib/temp/
app/downloader/pearlib/tests/

Secondly check your folders and files permissions (cf. http://www.magentocommerce.com/wiki/magento_filesystem_permissions)..

If you can enter Magento Downloader: enter “magento-core/Mage_All_Latest” within the “Paste extension key to install” input and click Install, that will hopefully download and make sure that every Mage core files are up-to-date.
