Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and knows an easy fix.  I built a new server copied the database over to it, copied the htdocs directory and I get the front page to come up, but every link off of the front page is broken.  Anybody know a fix for this?  I would like to go live Monday.  Any help would be deeply appreciated!  Thanks.
Sam

You need to follow a few steps.

1) Delete the /var/cache folder.

2) Edit your /app/etc/loca.xml and change the database values.

3) Enter to the database, and look at the core_config_data.
You can run something like this.

SELECT FROM core_config_data WHERE path 'web/unsecure/base_url' OR path 'web/secure/base_url';

There you gonna find the old url’s.
Change that values and Magento gonna be working again.

Hello Damián,
First off I would like to thank you very much for responding.  I have most everyting working on my production site except I can’t get to the secure URLS.  I am sure I have ssl running.  No errors in the apache logs or anything except You can’t get to a secure URL.  Would you per chance have any ideas there?  Thanks again.

Part of my problem was iptables blocking port 443.  I can telnet to the port now and can connect via browser.  I am getting page not found when I go to ssl.  I will update the thread as I progress.
