Is their any way I can block IP’s from entering my site through magento? Or do I need to find a outside source for this?

Here’s another option: block IPs using your htaccess file (if using Apache).

Old thread, but relevant,

We developed a neat little extension to block IP addresses: http://store.redstage.com/ip-blacklist.html

For more advanced fraud protection, we recommend Kount to our customers.

Some customers/companies need the backing of a larger development company.  Purchasing an extension from Redstage comes with…

1. Customer service department (phone and email) for all extensions
2. A regular schedule of upgrades, improvements, and bug fixes
3. An expectation of long-term support for the extension from a company in the industry since 2004.

Of course, you are somewhat right. Customer himself will decide what is more important for him: price or guaranteed support. However even free extensions have support.

Maybe because your extension is not working???

1) ET_IPSecurity is being used by number of people, large enough to say - the extension works
2) All of our extensions are being supported and we help our customers as much as we can. All we ask is to report any problems to us, so that we could fix it.
3) We always accept and are thankful for criticism, but “Maybe because your extension is not working???” doesn’t look like one and doesn’t give us any useful information

Considering all above… Well, I don’t see any tickets about ET_IPSecurity with problem description in our ticket system, nor do I see any email describing any kind of problems in our mailbox. So, if next time you would decide to submit bug report before picking on our product, that will be great.

I cannot reproduce this error on my test sites (1.6.2.0 and 1.7.0.2). Try to resolve problems with write permissions on your server.

If you cannot install from Magento Connect, then you can get this extension on bitbucket.org (https://bitbucket.org/etws/et_ipsecurity).
