Different shops for different customers - I don’t get it

Hi there,

This might be a well-documented question; I can’t find the answer though.

I need a different shop for every customer. So basically: when the customer logs in he will see different products then other customers will see.

Well I have found out that I can create websites, shops and views. I also found out that I can attach productgroups to shops.

It seems though that I can’t attach a customer to a website. So what I did is create a new website, a new shop and a new view.

Yet I’m stuck again: So I have a different website now. But how do I get there? When I call the main website URL it will only show the main website and it’s underlying shops.

So how do I access the newly created website so that the client can log in there?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Hi, basically you need to create separate sub-folders with your store files and edit the index.php to hold the correct store code.  Have a look at this webinar for more details: <a href=http://www.magentocommerce.com/blog/getting-the-most-of-multi-store-management-webinar-recording-now-available/>http://www.magentocommerce.com/blog/getting-the-most-of-multi-store-management-webinar-recording-now-available/</a>
