How do I add a currency

I have a fresh magento installation, version (0.6.12383) and i am missing the Pound (GBP) currency. unfortunately i can not find a way to add it? there is no such a thing like an add button in the currency management screen, and the only options i get is EUR, CAD and USD.

can anybody help out a newbe who thinks he is silly because it can’t be that complicated to do that?

issue resolved by updating to version 0614100. there all works as i was hoping it would smile
